MSc Project: Comparative Time Series Analysis of Energy Generation

Designed and implemented a unified SARMA-based time series modelling framework to compare and forecast renewable (solar, wind) and non-renewable (fossil gas, hard coal) energy generation in Germany, Spain, Finland, and the Netherlands.
Performed stationarity diagnostics (ADF test), spectral density analysis, and model selection using ACF/PACF plots, identifying weekly seasonality and optimal model specifications across countries and energy types.
Conducted multivariate VARMAX modelling to uncover interdependencies between renewable and non-renewable energy sources, revealing key correlations and temporal influences within each national context.
Utilised Python libraries (Statsmodels, SciPy, Scikit-learn) for end-to-end modelling, visualisation, and forecasting, delivering insights for energy planning, infrastructure investment, and grid stability across Europe.
